Data Retention Policy

Retention schedule

Browser-saved deals and free comparison boards: stored locally until you delete them or clear browser data.
Pro account and subscription records: retained while the account is active and for up to 24 months after closure for access, billing support, dispute handling and reactivation, unless a longer period is legally required.
Beta Deal Room source files: read locally and not intentionally retained by CapShark unless you separately submit them for a paid report or support request.
Unpurchased report drafts: not intentionally retained server-side unless needed for an active session or support request.
Purchased reports and delivery records: up to 24 months to permit recovery and customer support.
Payment, tax and accounting records: retained for the legally required period.
Lender-referral submissions: up to 12 months, or earlier on a valid deletion request unless retention is legally required.
Support communications: up to 24 months after closure.
Consent records: the latest browser privacy choice remains until changed or browser data is cleared. Server-side marketing consent and unsubscribe evidence is retained while CapShark relies on that consent and as reasonably required to demonstrate compliance.
Requested saved-analysis emails: delivery and consent records are targeted for deletion or de-identification within 24 months; an unsubscribe suppression record may be retained longer so a withdrawn address is not re-added accidentally.
Analytics: approved event-level records are targeted for deletion or aggregation within 14 months; owner dashboards should retain aggregate business totals rather than property or borrower data.

Deletion and legal holds

When a period expires, information is deleted or anonymized using reasonable processes. Retention may be extended for disputes, fraud prevention, security incidents or legal obligations. Requests are handled through the Contact page.
